Migration Testing - Certificate of Conformity
Download PDF(2.1Mb)
Tests to prove migration and food safety of both PE and PP films made with new formulation additive being introduced from April 2006. This range of additives can be identified by having a numerical product code (e.g. 502538 or 93224) rather than an alpha code (e.g. 2EM or 2MM).
These tests demonstrate that the material is safe for direct food contact in specific conditions of duration and temperature - as required by the regulations - and as described in the testing documentation. These results will not necessarily be satisfactory for other substrates of different thicknesses and constituents. Rigid PP and other plastics (e.g. PS) will provide different results and therefore require further tests. This is because we, as the additive supplier, are not in control of the quality or consistency of other parties materials - and cannot be liable for compliance or otherwise of their food contact requirements. In principle, there are unlikely to be any problems - for these credentials the additive has been tested under the most extreme conditions allowed in the EU Standard.
